This Instagram post started out as the painting Woman with a Mirror by Renaissance painter, Titian. I was able to recreate this painting by turning it into an Instagram post from a famous influencer/celebrity. I initially started out by changing some major elements within the painting. For example, I changed both the dress style and color that the woman is wearing, as well as inserted a flat iron, jewelry, makeup, and the reflection of her hair into the mirror. From there, I focused on lightening and modernizing the background using a compound color scheme and inserting some salon wall art. Using the new modernized painting as a post, I was able to create the idea that this woman is a celebrity reminiscing on the previous year's Grammy Awards. In addition, I inserted portraits from other famous Renaissance paintings as profiles, such as Mona Lisa, Portrait of a Young Man in Red, and Girl with a Pearl Earring, in order to create a blend of modern social media with Renaissance beings.
