Two Grahamstown choirs represented the City of Grahamstown in this choral competition. Choir master Sibusiso Mkhize was Anthea’s voice coach for 3 months. For the contest each choir sang Ave Maria and a song of their choice. Anthea had never sung in front of an audience before. Singing in front of 250 people proved to be the most terrifying thing Anthea has ever done. After much deliberation the 3 professional choir judges awarded Victoria Girls High with both trophies and I received an award for learning the most in the shortest amount of time and for trying my best.
