Your challenge is to create a 60-second music video highlighting the positive moments of 2020, as seen through your eyes. These can include family moments, reflections, collective experiences, and anything else that you consider important to how you personally experienced the year. Your video should succinctly encapsulate your own story of 2020.
My Concept:
Board games were a huge part of my year, so I wanted to use their different pieces and elements to help tell the story of my 2020, which was getting married, going on my honeymoon, and coming back to a world shutdown by the pandemic. People speak of 2020 like it's a person inflicting harm, so I wanted to portray it as an omniscient hand gambling the fate of the world and resulting in the pandemic; however, I also chose to portray it as gifting me the unexpected silver-lining of more time, because that really ended up being the focus of my year – more time for things I didn’t know I needed. I chose the track “Bring Me Home” (provided by Jamendo in Adobe Stock) because it felt like there were 2 moods to it that were perfect for portraying pre-pandemic and pandemic life events, along with great vocal and instrumental rhythms to cut my iPhone footage to.
