THE LEGO PARKLET
The project is located at the entrance of the AUB medical center. The major issue of the site is the inadequate and inexistent seating arrangement for the hospital staff and medical students, who would either stand or sit on the edge of the sidewalk during their breaks. Another issue, is the chaotic parking of the staff’s scooters, and the subsequent disruption of the circulation flow. The proposal is a modular parklet system that aims at providing a safe and inviting space, organize the space by enclosing designated areas for motorcycles and encourage street activities and vendors.
