Plant-based sustainable Asian food made with love

We designed Vegoshi's new restaurant located in Kluuvi Kitchen in central Helsinki. Vegoshi is an Asian, sustainable and plant-based restaurant aiming to make the world a better place, one bite at a time. Vegoshi attracts a youthful health- and aesthetics-conscious crowd, and we created a fresh and fun interior design and branding concept to reflect that. Emphasis was placed on ecological choices, comfort and a visually compelling style.

Food so tasty you won't notice it's healthy
Our design work isn't limited to just surfaces and furniture - it is about creating atmosphere, culture and brand. We designed and implemented additional brand imagery and posters for Vegoshi that show off the tastiness of plant-based food. Vegoshi's philosophy is to offer food that tastes so good that you won't even notice it's healthy, and we created the brand imagery concept around that.

We made sure that every detail of the restaurant experience was in line with the concept. We designed menus, both a wall-mounted set made of laser-cut plywood, as well as tactile paper menus on copper sheets to bring a touch of class to the tables. One of the details is how the different zones of the restaurant differ, to offer each patron the chance to subtly choose just the right atmosphere.

Sustainable values
To support the restaurant’s philosophy of sustainability, we utilised local carpenters to make the custom furniture and used domestic pinewood as the main material in the wood paneling. We designed the booth furniture and the sofas to suit the unique shape of the space. The exquisite dried flower arrangments were handmade for Vegoshi by a local artisan Studio Viivi. Even the ceramic plateware is specially picked to suit Vegoshi.
