Ripple Clothes Drying Rack

Challenge
Existing drying racks take too much space and time.
Outcome
An indoor electric drying rack with a visual texture that actively dries clothes using heat and fans.
Context
The lack of wind indoors takes a long time to dry clothes, which risks the clothes attracting odor and bacteria. Apartment spaces also don’t have the space to comfortably fit bulky drying racks.
Instead users use inconvenient, makeshift solutions.

Direction
Active Drying
Inspired by the Tesla Model 3 ventilation system, Ripple uses fans from the top and front to move at changing speeds which creates a moving stream of air that dries items evenly from top to bottom.
Dimensions and Insides
This is a rough simulation of what the inside would look like (Heating Coil / Top Fan Array / Front Fan Array).
