Women of Distinction

To promote women's achievements, there should be a mechanism for rewarding, recognizing and encouraging their achievements. In this way, we can have a large pool of motivated women waiting impatiently to do wonders.

No matter where you come from or who you are, there is always a light that leads you to success. Don't mourn the past and don't worry about the future; think about your present and make the most of it. Shagufta Rahman, Senior Vice President of Women Chamber in Pakistan, is the woman who received an Appreciation Award from the Governor of Punjab for her advocacy for the empowerment of women entrepreneurs.
Women entrepreneurs do not work in isolation in Pakistan. They work in the same macro-regulatory and institutional framework as their male counterparts in an open market mechanism in Pakistan. It is the major cause for that Pakistan has the lowest number of women entrepreneurs in the world, with only 1% of women entrepreneurs compared to 21% of men, the World Bank said. Increasing employment opportunities, access to employment and supportive regulatory policies for women are key barriers for women.
