The Legibility of Type

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Using the text and templates supplied, plus any illustrations, either found or created, create a design which illuminates the principles expressed in the text (remember, many of the issues are comparitive in nature: e.g. to show the difference between serif and sans-serif typefaces, you need to show the reader both). It may be helpful to give your design a context by positing a target audience: novice designers, children, or lay people for example. Some of the issues that will be discussed in the course of this investigation will be: the grid, paragraphing, leading, rag, dynamic composition, integration of text and image, continuity of design, and ultimately establishing a “visual story” through these principles and elements.
Date Completed: September 2020
