This is the illustration of  Edward Lear's limerick  about the great scientist from Italy who was concerned about the future.

The brief had a limited palette and format - a narrative comic and vertical format. 

In the beginning I made the moodboard for the theme. I liked mixing color with pink, and I remembered this method for myself and decided to use it. I liked the direction of absurdity and total chaos.

Also I created a mental map, which helped me to open up the topic from several sides and avoid the first associations with the text. Find something unique and surprising about the topic that is not obvious.

Then I made some drafts. 

The first draft was in the theme of music and disco.Disco thinker in Italy looking for answers. He is so immersed in thoughts and philosophy, in fears of the future that it became his mantra and his song, he spins it on the disc and lives this "music", the vibrations of the music fill everything around.

The second theme is a girl thinker and predictor with a ball of predictions, behind the vault of the cathedral. inside the ball Egyptian cat - the object of worship in Egypt. The ball - a magical expectation of the future and waiting for something that is not yet there.

The third draft is about dancing and noodles in the ears. First, a flat disk of the earth, just a boot-italy, and a thinker who gladly jumps into the "noodles" of beliefs, expectations, philosophical thoughts and fears about the future.

Then the first idea was chosen, it was the strongest and most elaborate. Because of the references I added pink and some gradients and the first version turned out to be like this:

Then after discussing the work, I created another option to choose from, which strictly contains clear colors from the palette without additional colors or gradients.

I really liked the result of the work, it reflects the rough stylistics of the collage and at the same time detailed.
