FREE PERIOD PRODUCTS
La Scozia è diventata il primo paese al mondo a fornire libero accesso ai prodotti per il ciclo mestruale.
Il Period Products (Free Provision) (Scotland) Act, approvato all'unanimità nella sua fase finale martedì sera, imporrà alle autorità locali l'obbligo legale di rendere disponibili i prodotti per il ciclo per tutti coloro che ne hanno bisogno.
La campagna è stata guidata dalla portavoce per la salute dei laburisti scozzesi, Monica Lennon che ha detto: "Tutto ciò farà una grande differenza per la vita di donne e ragazze e tutti coloro che hanno il ciclo.
C'è stato un enorme cambiamento nel modo in cui si parla di ciclo mestruale nella vita pubblica. Alcuni anni fa non c'era mai stata una discussione aperta sulle mestruazioni nella camera di Holyrood ed ora invece è mainstream. E con questo, anche temi come la menopausa, l’endometriosi, così come i tipi di prodotti che utilizziamo e la loro sostenibilità."

Scotland has become the first country in the world to provide free and universal access to period products.The Period Products (Free Provision) (Scotland) Act, which passed unanimously through its final stage on Tuesday evening, will place a legal duty on local authorities to make period products available for all those who need them.
The campaign was spearheaded by Scottish Labour’s health spokeswoman, Monica Lennon who said: “This will make a massive difference to the lives of women and girls and everyone who menstruates. There has been a massive change in the way that periods are discussed in public life. A few years ago there had never been an open discussion of menstruation in the Holyrood chamber and now it is mainstream. MSPs have enjoyed being a part of that, and it has encompassed the menopause, endometriosis, as well as the types of products we use and their sustainability.”
