Digital Imaging Print Ad for
Museum MACAN (Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara)
The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara or Museum MACAN is an art museum in Jakarta, Indonesia, which provides public access to a significant and growing collection of modern and contemporary art from Indonesia and around the world. In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, Museum MACAN has been closed temporarily, but they have joined the #MuseumFromHome global movement where the public is able to ‘visit’ their exhibitions online with guided virtual tours.
The museum displays around 90 works from a collection totaling 800 modern Indonesian and contemporary artworks from around the world. In this print ad series, we had to approach the concept metaphorically, so I took some pieces of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama's artwork like the 'Shine of Life', 'Life Is The Heart of The Rainbow' and 'Infinity Mirrored Room' look like they are coming out of a phone, as if visitors are right there in the museum even though they are 'visiting' the museum digitally with #MuseumFromHome.
