This semester project looked at the fundamentals of ecological architecture. Each of us was tasked with choosing an architectural typology; my choice: Stadiums. Stadiums are huge consumers of energy and space BUT often only for a few hours a day. Extrapolated, stadiums are just like any other architectural type but looking at stadiums from a per/hour energy usage, stadiums are among the highest consumers. Additionally, the space stadiums occupy is again, only used sporadically. This projects examines stadiums across the world, examining their sustainable features, and making conclusions on best-practices.
