Every day, our planet loses countless numbers of species, many not even recognized or documented by scientists. Many of these reside in the Amazon rainforest. This illustration is not of any particular species, but rather serves to illustrate the diversity of life of which we have no idea even currently resides on the same planet as we do.  As humanity continues to further its goals, of which many are self purposed and destructive, we can expect to see many organisms we have never documented go extinct.
