From Militia to Police
March 1st is the day, when russian police, called Militia (Милиция - [mili'tsiya]), had been started to reform to the Police, like it's called in western countries. In the last two decades militia singed its reputation by reason of its agression against citizens, as well as corruption an venality. But will the police more decent and law-abiding than old militia? It's a big doubt, bacause the people in the police are the same. In addition police get more privileges, than it had. Probably it will be much worse in future, and russians will remember of militia as the better alternative.
