This small project was about creating a shoe which embodied playfulness. I wanted the shoe to come to life when you wore it and thought about the inspiration from Ghost busters. When the monsters are hiding in an unusual place and then appear when being pushed out there place. Here is my process which shows where I took inspiration from and implemented it into the shoe. 

I looked at old broken shoe soles I had and decided there was a lot I could do with the Airmax sole. Thinking where to hid the slime I thought, wouldn't it be cool if when your foot put pressure on the shoe the slime would appear out of the heel. This made it look like it was coming to life which was great!

The final concept upper was made from scrap materials that I have sourced from recycle bins in uni and elsewhere. The white sock like upper (old shoe bag) reminded me of a ghost like shape tying in well with the ghost busters theme. The red material gave some structure to the shoe, keeping the foot secure and colour going well with the theme of the film.
