Lion King Typography Movie Poster

You will be creating a typographic movie poster. Based on our visit from John Metcalf and the work he shared, both his own and other iconic examples, you will design a poster inspired by something you've watched while at home on quarantine. The goal is to convey an idea of what the movie is about and to invoke interest in the viewer by using typography as the primary design aesthetic. You may use illustration, photography, or photo manipulation to add to your design, but type must be the focus of your poster design.
During my first round of sketches I started out with making a list of some of my favorite movies or movies I thought would make good type posters. After that, I started sketching some ideas based on the ideas I had found on Pinterest. I didn't really like any of my initial ideas except for the one in the last picture on the bottom right of Pirates of the Caribbean.
This is my second round of sketches and I decided to move forward with The Office, Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Lion King, which I hadn't done a lot with during the first round. I decided that I wanted to do something along the lines of my very first drawing in the first picture.
After experimenting a little in Illustrator with my sketch, I found this poster on Pinterest and wanted to do a similar thing but for Lion King.
I went into Photoshop to create the background using stock images and masks. Then I brought the document into Illustrator to add text and typography aspects. Then I added the crown and adjusted the sizing to finalize the project.
