KEEPING IT MODERN: MODERN HERITAGE UNDER PRESSURE
Event Branding & Bilingual Website Design
KIMMHUP is an annual cross-regional meeting on conservation planning led by Architects Aziza Chaouni and Silvio Oksman, with support from the Getty Foundation's Keeping it Modern Grant.The inaugural meeting took place in Feb 2019 at the Sidi Harazem complex, designed by Jean-Francois Zevaco in Morocco in 1960.
Bidoun Studio was tasked with developing all event branding materials as well as designing a bilingual informational website to house the participants' research and lectures. Drawing inspiration from the unique architecture of Sidi Harazem—combining the characteristics of modernist architecture with abstract reminiscences of Moroccan tile and woodwork patterns—we designed a visual language that serves to frame and highlight the momentous research it accompanies.
