Signs, Print and Wraps

Signage and Printing
Five years in the sign industry presented me with many opportunities and challenges to create amazing signage for national companies and small businesses alike. I have successfully taken on projects ranging from one-off, custom designs for local clients to multi-facility corporate reimages and everything in between.
I first learned how to design, cut, weed, mask and apply vinyl to flat substrates using Adobe Illustrator and CuttingMaster.
Later, we added a wide format HP latex printer to our production department which allowed me to master FlexiPrint for HP. This allowed us to expand our offerings and  pushed me to learn and master screen-to-printer color matching, banner creation, and contour cutting of printed materials. Most importantly, I was able to begin installations and get to know how my creations are actualized in the field.
Routing
Then there was a game changer: the addition of a 3D capable CNC router. I was sent to Charlotte, NC for a seminar which taught me the basics of Enroute 6 and 3D sign design methodology. I realized that all of my knowledge up to this point would culminate here.
Regal Prototype
Building prototypes is one of my favorite activities. When Regal contacted Sycamore to do a visual build-out of their new identity I was all but ecstatic. The client provided specifications containing flat graphics and color codes for printing. I then converted the flat graphics to 3D using Enroute 6, programmed the tool paths for the router, and sanded down the MDF board to a smooth finish. Colors were then applied using a color matched vinyl printed on Arlon wrap media and mounted to a slate gray backboard for presentation.
Wraps
During my tenure with Sycamore, vehicle wraps were not commonplace. However, my fascination with wrapping led me to independent study. Below you will find examples of what I have accomplished with my own time and practice.
