INFLUENCING EMOTIONS TASK (HAPPY EMOTION)

INTRODUCTION
For this week's task, we were asked to create a "collaborative" short video with a duration between 30 secs to a min. The goal of this task is to influence the emotion of the audience from one video that are created by other group to another video.
Each group were to select different type of emotions such Sad, Happy, Anger and Fear. All groups had made a discussion together to come up with a storyline where each video from individual groups are linked to one another. We have come up with a storyline that uses the same characters with the same profile in order to link the storyline from each group. Our video represents the emotion of happiness. We all agreed to choose Aida as the main character and show different type of emotions in all the videos.
PRE-PRODUCTION
STORYLINE
As mentioned, this video is showing the representation of "Happy" emotions. From the previous video, Aida was very sad and frustrated due to her recent lost of her pet. In the first scene to continue her emotions, she walks towards the area full of trash and founds a toy. The moment she found the toy, she starts smiling as if she just found her happiness that replaced her grief. Every scenes in this video onwards is showing that all her face expressions and emotions is full of happiness with laughter, smiles and affections. Aida always brings the toy around and plays with it. She spends a lot of time with that toy because she sees it as a real cat and she is too immersed with her time spent with the toy. In the final scene, Aida was about to go on a walk. When she stopped briefly, something is about to happened with her toy.

FRAMING
Scene 1: The first scene is a medium shot showing the main character’s first encounter with the toy. The medium shot is to show the situation of where the toy is found and how the main character found the toy.
Scene 2: This scene is using a medium close up shot to show the expression of the main character when she found the toy.
Scene 3: This scene is the same as previous shot, a medium close up shot to focus on the characters emotion. The background is purposely blurred out while someone was passing by in the background to show that the character was too immersed with playing with the toy without realising someone was actually looking at her weird actions.
Scene 4 & 5: This POV shot is to show the happiness that the character is expressing when she was having her moment with her toy and to show that the stuffed cat has made her happy in her own bubble of emotions and thoughts. This scene is also made in slow motion to capture the happy moment of the character and the toy.
Scene 6: This scene is showing a low angle medium shot of the character spinning around to show the full detail of the character, the toy and the surroundings as the continuation of the previous scene.
Scene 7: The first half of this scene is a wide shot scene to show the full detail of the character bringing the toy everywhere she goes and the next half is focusing on the toy through a close up shot before ending the scene. This is also to show the suspense at the end of the video for audience to expect a continuation of the video.
THEME
The theme of this video is Happy. This video is filmed and developed to show the audience the aspect of happiness that involves affection, laughters and smiles.

COLOUR CORRECTION & COLOUR GRADING
After all of the scenes are compiled, we adjusted each scenes' brightness, contrasts and highlights. After that, we applied adjustment layer for all of the scene and to make them warm.
This is one of the happy scene taken from the movie Toy story (as reference). This scene shows joy and happiness. So we tried to create the same tone from this movie. We emphasized warm colour to connect with the main actor's happy mood and feeling throughout the video. In this video, this is as mentioned to associate with joy, naivety and insanity. It also shows Aida's journey of happiness after she felt sad from the previous video. you will from the first scene, the blue tone slowly changes to warm.
