Books as objects and experiences
Having in mind the idea of a re-imagined edition of the literary fiction written by Yevgeny Zamyatin, this project enhances the experience of reading, bringing more interactive and visual components into the final object. This particular editorial design aims to apply the concepts of “hybrid novel” and “visual writing” as a means to add a new layer to the way we absorb and understand the way stories are told.
AUTHOR’S EDITION
Design and edition of the dystopian novel by Soviet dissident Yevgeny Zamyatin (published in English in 1924).
The underlying concept was to combine Zamyatin’s text with the series Luz Azul, an artwork by Miguel Soares.
The appropriated images were subsequently manipulated and are a byproduct of the original ones.
