Zaffko®
Zaffko is a Turkish holding company that specializes in offering high-end food products, such as tea and saffron, sourced from Iran. I had the opportunity to work on the packaging design and branding identity of these products in 2019. In this blog post, I will share some of the insights and challenges that I faced during this project, as well as some of the results and feedback that I received from the client and the consumers.
Zaffko is a Turkish holding company that specializes in offering high-end food products, such as tea and saffron, sourced from Iran. I had the opportunity to work on the packaging design and branding identity of these products in 2019. In this blog post, I will share some of the insights and challenges that I faced during this project, as well as some of the results and feedback that I received from the client and the consumers.
The main goal of the project was to create a distinctive and elegant visual identity for
Zaffko's products, that would reflect their premium quality and exotic origin. I wanted to convey a sense of luxury, sophistication and authenticity, while also appealing to the target market of affluent and discerning customers. To achieve this, I used a combination of rich colors, intricate patterns, gold foil and embossing techniques, as well as typography inspired by Persian calligraphy.
One of the challenges that I faced was to balance the cultural and aesthetic aspects of the design, without compromising on clarity and functionality. I had to research the history and symbolism of the Iranian tea and saffron culture, as well as the preferences and expectations of the Turkish consumers. I also had to consider the practical aspects of the packaging, such as the size, shape, material and durability. I worked closely with the client and the printer to ensure that the design was feasible and cost-effective.
The final outcome was a series of elegant and eye-catching packages that showcased
Zaffko's products in a refined and attractive way. The client was very satisfied with the design and reported positive feedback from the consumers. The products also received several awards and recognition from various design competitions and publications. I am very proud of this project and I hope you enjoyed reading about it.
