Ouverture는 프랑스어로 '펼치다'라는 뜻 입니다.

Ouverture means 'open' in French.

Back Ground

현재 많은 사무용 제품들은 메모 기능을 기본적으로 지원합니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 사무원들은 갖은 이유로 종이 메모지를 작성합니다.
종이 메모지는 사용성이 직관적이고, 특히 회의 간 피드백을 주고 받을 때 빠른 의사소통을 가능하게 해줍니다.

그러나 주변환경이 지저분해질 뿐더러 일회성으로 사용된 이후 재활용할 방법이 마땅치 않다는 단점이 있죠.
그래서 모니터 옆면에 먼지가 쌓인 채로 붙어서 방치되어 있기도 하고 그대로 버려져 "종이없는사무실"이라는 트렌트를 무안하게 만들기도 합니다.

Insights

대부분의 사무직원은 컴퓨터로 업무를 볼 때 메모를 사용했고, 그 중 불편한 점을 느낀 사람들은 전체의 약 70%였습니다.
가장 큰 불편함은 "책상이 지저분해진다"(34%)였습니다.

Most office workers used notes to work on computers, and about 70% of them felt uncomfortable.
The biggest inconvenience was "the desk is getting messy" (34%).

Targetting

예상되는 메인 소비층은 주로 사무 업무를 보는 직장인이지만 , 공부하는 학생들도 유용하게 사용할 수 있을 것입니다.

The expected main consumer group is mainly office workers, but it will be useful for students studying.

Design

제품은 평소 우리가 쓰던 수첩에서 그 조형적인 아이디어를 얻었습니다. Ouverture의 사용자들은 평소에 키보드를 사용하다가

메모할 일이 생기면 기존의 메모 종이를 찾는 대신, 제품의 넘패드를 열면 됩니다.

The product got the figurative idea from the note pad that we usually use. When users suddenly need to take notes, they can open the Ouverture's number pad instead of looking for a memo paper, even if they are using the keyboard.

Typing Mode

타이핑 모드에서 Ouverture의 가죽 커버는 기존 키보드의 넘패드 역할을 합니다. 가죽 위의 특수 전도성 섬유마감이 이를 가능하게 하는 것이죠.

손가락 끝에서 나온 전류는 섬유를 통해 가죽 커버 안 쪽의 터치패드로 전달됩니다.

In typing mode, Ouverture's leather cover acts as a number pad on a conventional keyboard.

The special conductive fiber on the leather makes this possible.
Current from the fingertips passes through the fiber to the touchpad inside the leather cover.

Memo Mode

사용자들은 기존의 메모지를 사용하던 방법 그대로 Overture를 사용할 수 있습니다.
Overture의 키패드의 손잡이를 잡고 열고, 옆면에 자석으로 붙어있는 펜을 집으면 끝입니다.
터치패드에 입력된 메모는 이미지 파일로 컴퓨터에 자동저장 됩니다.

Users can use the Overture the same way they used conventional notes.
Grab and open the handle of the Overture's keypad and pick up the pen attached to the side with the magnet and you're done.
Notes entered on the touchpad are automatically saved to your computer as an image file.
