One bright and chilly July morning I found a special email request from new Client, Erin G from Massachusetts, USA. Erin had discovered my Jackalope illustration on Bēhance and had requested a custom designed, ink illustration of a Victorian-esque Jackalope wearing ruffles, to represent her new business venture, a mobile coffee cart.
So happily, I jumped on the opportunity to revisit my long-earred, elusive friend.
With a full schedule of bookings by day, the sketches starting sneaking out after night fall when the computers were sleeping. I really relish in these moments of creative exploration; translating written words into a story visual filled with intrigue and purpose, and a powerful emotional connect.
After the sketch was approved and feedback received from the Client, it was time to lock it all in place with ink. The thrill of watching a sketch come to life with the careful placement of ink lines over and over again is exhilarating and becomes incredibly addictive.
