Selatangar is an old fishing stations and one of the few around the coast of Iceland that is remaining, although only as ruins. Throughout the centuries, from the early 14th century and up until the late 19th century, fishing stations were essential for most farms and families in Iceland in their effort to sustain.
The fishing station was the home and workplace and the place where men took their rowing boats out to the open se. The downside was the fact that the time was from February to May and it is the most difficult time of year in Iceland as it is the time of our worst weather and winter storms. This often made life at the fishing post a living disaster and we lost many good man in this battle of surviving.
These are the heroes who built Iceland and with this Video I would like to show them my respect and gratitude.
It so happened that my best friend Siggi P drowned in his early years, so I decided to compose , play and record in his honor a song and used it in this video. My dearest friend, You are remembered still.
