I drew this for Illustration Friday, a weekly art challenge where you create an illustration inspired by a single word. That particular week's theme was "underwater," so naturally what came to my mind was fish. There's something about the world beneath the waves that's both beautiful and frightening and it shows in this illustration above with the goldfish unwittingly swimming into danger. While I drew this piece in 2013 and my style has evolved since that time, this little fish still has a place in my heart.
