Issue 01
Swiss style has been a reference worldwide because of its clean lines, objectivity and readability.
As the modernist movement emerged, the Swiss style had a massive impact on graphic design as a whole. Its main purpose was the search for simplicity and function over aesthetics. On this issue, we look at Swiss Design as an international style and explore its expansion, particularly to the United States of America. The first part of the object refers to the Swiss School, its influences, the Basel and Zurich Design and two of the great features of the Swiss Style, the use of the Grid System and sans-serif Typefaces. On the other hand, the second part is all about the International style going beyond Switzerland and into America and the influence it had on the work of american designers, from the post-World War II era until nowadays.
